Brian Eno, Earth Percent
Brian Eno is a renowned musician, producer, visual artist, and activist. He gained fame in the early seventies with Roxy Music and later with solo albums and collaborations. His work as a producer includes albums with Talking Heads, Devo, U2, Laurie Anderson, and Coldplay, along with collaborations with artists like David Bowie, David Byrne, and Fred Again. His latest album, FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE, was released in October 2022. Eno's visual art, including light and video installations, has been exhibited globally in venues such as the Sydney Opera House and Beijing's Ritan Park. He is a founding member of the Long Now Foundation and a patron of Videre est Credere. His deep commitment to the planet is evident through his role as a trustee of Client Earth and the launch of EarthPercent in 2021, which raises money from the music industry for some of the most impactful environmental charities working on the climate emergency. In 2023, Brian was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement by the Venice Biennale Musica. In January 2024, Eno, a generative documentary about the artist’s life, was screened at the Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim.

“The Ocean Hope Expedition is an amazing project and is key to our ongoing commitment to protecting the planet's most vital ecosystems. Farah's courage and determination to stop deep-sea mining have greatly inspired me - it shows what single individuals and small groups of people are capable of. While science necessarily emphasizes objective data, we need to bridge the gap between science and human feelings by recognising the power and beauty of the oceans - and we can do this through music and art. By supporting this initiative, we are investing in both the health of our oceans and the emotional connections necessary to create a sustainable future." - Brian Eno

Rosalin Kuipers, Team Holcim PRB,
currently preparing for The Ocean Race Europe 2025

Rosalin began sailing at age six on an Optimist near her hometown of Zoetermeer. In her youth, she competed nationally in athletics before switching to field hockey. Her passion for sailing was reignited at 18 during a solo trip to Australia, leading her to her first job as a deckhand and later joining the Youth Sailing Academy under former Volvo Ocean Race skipper Roy Heiner. Since then, Rosalin has competed in iconic races like the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, The Fastnet Race, and the Caribbean 600, collaborating with numerous sailing champions. She sailed on the Volvo 65 AkzoNobel during The Ocean Race Europe 2021 and competed in The Ocean Race 2023. Rosalin joined Team Holcim-PRB in 2023 to gain offshore sailing experience, with the goal of leading the Swiss team in The Ocean Race Europe in 2025. Beyond sailing, Rosalin holds a master's degree in psychology, specializing in sports psychology and group dynamics. An advocate for ocean protection, she is deeply committed to preserving marine ecosystems and incorporates this passion into her sailing endeavors.

“I truly believe that deep-sea mining will be devastating for our Ocean. As a professional sailor, I have spent countless days at sea, competing in ocean races around the world and I feel strongly connected to the Ocean. They are the lungs of the planet and every second breath we take comes from it. We must keep the ocean healthy, and this means not opening it up to deep-sea mining. Not only will deep-sea mining destroy life in the ocean, but it will also release the carbon dioxide that is stored in the seabed. To me, it is unthinkable to allow deep-sea mining to happen and that is why I want to give the Ocean a voice and why I support The Ocean and Us.”

"“The campaign to stop deep-sea mining from starting is one of hope
and empowerment. Whilst deep-sea mining is the most terrifying industry
I can think of for the ocean and us, it is entirely preventable.

Your support makes all the difference!
Join us in amplifying
the message that deep-sea mining is detrimental
to the ocean,
damaging to the climate, and economically unviable.”.
