Women4Oceans, a project of The Ocean and Us, is an ever-evolving concept designed to benefit ocean health through women's empowerment and the feminine perspective.
|
It is a step towards better representation and inclusivity. It also serves as a great networking tool, as women working on shared topics, or in the same location can find each other.
|
To turn things around we must change
our relationship with the ocean
and rediscover our place in the
natural world.
Over-fishing, destructive legal and illegal fishing, climate change, pollution, poaching of endangered species, the emerging threat of deep-sea mining and many other deplorable practices are taking their toll on the ocean.
|
W4O recognizes diversity as a key driver for this change. In particular W4O elevates the feminine perspective in the ocean space and the need for all voices to be heard.
|
This unique approach offers new solutions by considering the collective, innate, undiscovered and future value of the ocean.

What does W4O do?
- Maintain a directory of women working in the ocean space.
- Delivers talks on the importance of elevating the feminine perspective in the ocean space.
- Provides bespoke workshops to organizations and institutions working in the ocean space.
- Offers a cheeky app to help level the (gender) playing field at (ocean) conferences.
- Holds networking events to build community and foster collaboration. London & Tokyo
